July 9,1755. British and colonial soldiers are ambushed at Monongahela by the French and Indians.

Every mounted British officer was killed. An Indian chief noticed a brave colonial officer riding back and forth across the battlefield shouting orders. The chief directed his warriors to take aim. Time and again they fired. Each time they missed. After the battle, the young officer counted four bullet holes in his tunic.

Fifteen years later the officer and an aide were traveling through the same woods when they were met by the same chief. He told the colonial officer “the Great Spirit protects you and guides your destiny. You will become the chief of nations and a people yet unborn will hail you as the founder of a mighty empire. You are the favorite of Heaven.”

That young colonial officer was George Washington. God spared his life, that he might become the Founding Father of a great nation. God blessed America before America was born.
